| Producing WMA & WMV |
As a user of Windows XP, you should already have the means to produce videos of a WMV format.
Sometimes located in your main programs list, and sometimes in Programs > Accessories, you should find a program called Windows Movie Maker. This program will convert your file to WMV whilst giving you the ability to add titles and effects if you wish. Dont forget, your mix on Happy Nation can be up to 500MB, so dont be concerned about having to compress it too much to upload it :). 130kbps should be a good bitrate for you.
We find that the easiest way to create WMA files, is to use an excellent little application called On Demand Producer. It is such a small program that it doesnt even need to be installed on your PC (It can be ran as an executable file as and when you need to convert files). Another benefit of this is that it can convert multiple files in one go.
On Demand Producer requires you to start off with a WAV file. As WAV files are of the highest quality that you can record to, this will give you the best possible output quality when compressing it to WMA :). Here is a download link for ODP. Select "save", and not "run" to download and store it on to your computer.
